Frequently asked questions
Why is USC shown separately from PAYE?
USC is a separate charge on gross income collected through the PAYE system, so payslips list it as its own deduction alongside income tax and PRSI.
What does the PAYE credit mean for me?
It is a non-refundable credit of €2,000 for 2025 that reduces the income tax you owe, in addition to the single person credit.
How does pension relief work in this estimate?
The calculator treats your contribution as a pre-tax deduction, which reduces taxable income, income tax and USC. Ireland also applies age-related earnings limits, which are not modelled here.
These calculators provide planning estimates, not tax advice. Verify every figure with the official guidance published by Revenue Commissioners before you file or sign a contract.
